THE LARK HARBOUR TILT
LODGING TERMS & GUEST POLICIES

Last Updated: August 9, 2026

Welcome to The Lark Harbour Tilt.

As a small, independently operated lodging property, we want every guest to enjoy a comfortable, safe and memorable stay. These Lodging Terms & Guest Policies explain the conditions that apply to reservations and stays at The Lark Harbour Tilt.

By making or completing a reservation, the guest making the booking acknowledges and agrees to these terms on behalf of themselves and all guests included in the reservation.

Specific rates, room types, occupancy limits, payment terms and other details shown in your reservation confirmation also form part of your booking agreement.

1. RESERVATIONS & GUEST RESPONSIBILITY

The person making the reservation is considered the primary guest and is responsible for the reservation, including payment and the conduct of all guests and visitors associated with the booking.

The primary guest must be present for the stay unless another arrangement has been approved by The Lark Harbour Tilt in advance.

Rooms may only be occupied by the number of guests permitted for the reserved room and shown on the booking confirmation.

Guests may not transfer, resell or assign a reservation to another person without our prior approval.

Minimum Booking Age

The primary guest must be at least 19 years of age at the time of check-in and may be required to provide valid government-issued identification.

2. RATES, PAYMENT & CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION

Rates are quoted in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated and are subject to applicable taxes.

The rate and payment terms applicable to a reservation are those displayed and agreed to at the time of booking.

Guests are responsible for ensuring that valid payment information is provided. If a required payment cannot be processed, we may contact the guest to arrange an alternate form of payment. If payment cannot be completed within a reasonable period after contact, the reservation may be cancelled.

The guest authorizes The Lark Harbour Tilt to charge the payment method associated with the reservation for amounts properly owing under the reservation, including:

- accommodation charges;
- applicable taxes;
- authorized additional purchases or services;
- damage to the property;
- missing property;
- excessive cleaning;
- smoking or vaping remediation;
- lost or unreturned access devices; and
- other reasonable charges resulting from a violation of these Guest Policies.

Where a post-stay charge is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the guest and provide information explaining the charge.

Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original method of payment. Processing times after a refund has been issued are determined by the applicable bank or payment provider.

3. CANCELLATION POLICY

As a small, independently operated property with a limited number of guest rooms, every reservation is important to us. When a room is reserved, it is removed from availability for other guests, and cancellations made close to the arrival date can be difficult or impossible for us to replace.

The following cancellation terms apply to reservations made directly with The Lark Harbour Tilt.

Cancellation deadlines are calculated from 3:00 PM Newfoundland Time on the scheduled arrival date.

Stays of 1–3 Nights

- Cancellations received at least 14 days before the scheduled arrival date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations received 7–13 days before the scheduled arrival date will be charged 25% of the total booking amount.
- Cancellations received 3–6 days before the scheduled arrival date will be charged 50% of the total booking amount.
- Cancellations received less than 72 hours before the scheduled check-in time will be charged the full booking amount.

Stays of 4 Nights or More and Multiple-Room Bookings

Because longer stays and multiple-room reservations remove a greater portion of our limited accommodation inventory from availability, longer cancellation periods apply.

- Cancellations received at least 30 days before the scheduled arrival date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations received 14–29 days before the scheduled arrival date will be charged 25% of the total booking amount.
- Cancellations received 7–13 days before the scheduled arrival date will be charged 50% of the total booking amount.
- Cancellations received less than 7 days before the scheduled arrival date will be charged the full booking amount.

Rebooked Accommodation

Where a cancellation charge would otherwise apply, we will make reasonable efforts to rebook the cancelled accommodation.

If we are able to rebook all of the cancelled nights, the cancellation charge will be reduced to 25% of the original booking amount.

If only part of the cancelled accommodation is rebooked, an additional partial refund will be calculated based on the accommodation revenue recovered.

The ability to rebook cancelled accommodation cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to a Reservation

Reducing the length of a reservation, changing arrival or departure dates in a way that removes reserved nights, or removing one or more rooms from a booking is considered a partial cancellation.

The cancelled portion of the reservation is subject to the same cancellation terms that would apply if that accommodation had been cancelled entirely.

Requests to move a reservation to different dates are subject to availability and approval and may be treated as a cancellation and new reservation where appropriate.

No-Shows & Early Departures

Guests who do not arrive for their reservation and do not cancel within the applicable cancellation period will be charged the full amount of the original reservation.

Unused nights resulting from a late arrival or early departure are non-refundable.

Weather, Transportation & Personal Circumstances

Weather conditions, flight or ferry interruptions, road conditions, transportation disruptions, illness and other unexpected personal circumstances are subject to the same cancellation policy.

We strongly recommend purchasing appropriate trip cancellation or travel insurance, particularly when travelling from outside the region.

If The Lark Harbour Tilt is unable to provide the reserved accommodation, all payments relating to the accommodation we are unable to provide will be refunded.

How to Cancel

Cancellations must be submitted directly to The Lark Harbour Tilt.

A cancellation is considered received when it has been acknowledged by us in writing.

Guests should retain their cancellation confirmation for their records.

Third-Party Reservations

Reservations made through third-party booking providers are subject to the cancellation, payment and modification terms displayed by that booking provider at the time the reservation is made.

Where a reservation was made through a third-party provider, cancellation or modification requests may also need to be submitted through that provider.

4. CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM.

Check-out is by 11:00 AM.

Early check-in or late check-out may sometimes be available by prior arrangement, subject to availability, but cannot be guaranteed.

Guests who require early access or a late departure should contact us in advance.

Unauthorized late departures that interfere with housekeeping or an incoming reservation may result in an additional reasonable charge.

Contactless Check-In

Our lodging accommodations use electronic access codes and room access devices.

Guests are responsible for keeping access codes confidential and should not provide them to anyone who is not a registered guest.

Access codes and room access devices may not be duplicated, transferred or used after the reservation has ended.

Lost or unreturned room fobs or other access devices may result in a reasonable replacement charge.

5. OCCUPANCY, VISITORS & USE OF GUEST ROOMS

Only registered guests may stay overnight in guest rooms.

The number of overnight guests may not exceed the maximum occupancy established for the room.

Visitors are permitted only where their presence does not disturb other guests, exceed occupancy or safety limits, interfere with the operation of the property, or create unreasonable noise or disruption.

Guest rooms may not be used for:

- parties or large gatherings;
- commercial activities without prior approval;
- unlawful activity; or
- activities likely to cause excessive noise, damage or disruption.

The primary guest is responsible for the conduct of visitors invited onto the property in connection with their reservation.

6. QUIET HOURS & GUEST CONDUCT

Quiet hours are observed between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

During quiet hours, guests must keep televisions, music, conversations and other noise at a level that will not disturb neighbouring rooms.

At all times, behaviour that threatens or materially interferes with the safety, comfort or enjoyment of guests, staff or visitors is prohibited.

This includes:

- excessive or repeated noise;
- threatening or abusive behaviour;
- harassment;
- violence or threats of violence;
- property damage;
- dangerous conduct;
- illegal activity; and
- serious or repeated violations of these Guest Policies.

The Lark Harbour Tilt reserves the right to require a guest or visitor to leave the property where their behaviour presents a safety concern or significantly disrupts the property, staff or other guests.

A stay terminated because of serious misconduct or a significant violation of these policies may be non-refundable.

7. SMOKING, VAPING & CANNABIS

The Lark Harbour Tilt is a non-smoking property indoors.

Smoking or vaping of any kind is prohibited inside guest rooms and all indoor areas of the building.

This includes tobacco, cannabis, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers and similar products.

Guests who smoke outdoors must remain at least 15 feet from building entrances and must properly dispose of cigarette butts and other waste.

Guests are responsible for reasonable costs associated with cleaning, deodorizing, repairing or remediating a room or other area where smoking or vaping has occurred contrary to this policy.

8. PETS & SERVICE ANIMALS

Pets are not permitted in guest accommodations unless The Lark Harbour Tilt has specifically approved an exception in advance.

Service animals required in connection with a disability are accommodated in accordance with applicable law and are not treated as pets under this policy.

Guests travelling with a service animal are encouraged to contact us before arrival if there is anything we can do to assist with their stay.

9. DAMAGE, MISSING ITEMS & EXCESSIVE CLEANING

Guests are expected to treat rooms, furnishings, linens, equipment and common areas with reasonable care.

The primary guest is responsible for damage caused by themselves, members of their party or visitors associated with their reservation beyond reasonable ordinary wear and tear.

Guests may be charged for reasonable repair, replacement or remediation costs associated with:

- damaged furnishings, fixtures or equipment;
- damaged or excessively stained linens or towels;
- missing property;
- smoking or vaping in prohibited areas;
- excessive cleaning beyond normal housekeeping;
- damage resulting from prohibited activities; or
- lost or unreturned access devices.

Where practical, guests will be notified of post-stay charges and provided with an explanation of the amount charged.

10. HOUSEKEEPING & ROOM ACCESS

For stays of 1–6 nights, guests may request a light room refresh, additional linens or other reasonable housekeeping assistance.

For stays longer than 7 days, a weekly room cleaning and restock will be scheduled.

Guests may place tied garbage bags or recycling outside their room door for collection where directed by staff.

We respect guest privacy and will make reasonable efforts not to enter an occupied room unnecessarily.

However, authorized staff may enter a guest room when reasonably necessary for:

- requested housekeeping or guest service;
- scheduled housekeeping;
- maintenance or repairs;
- emergency situations;
- health, safety or security concerns;
- investigation of suspected property damage or serious policy violations; or
- other reasonable circumstances necessary to protect guests, staff or the property.

11. COOKING, OPEN FLAMES & FIRE SAFETY

Cooking is not permitted in guest rooms.

Guests may not bring or use hot plates, portable burners, air fryers, toaster ovens or other cooking appliances in guest rooms unless an appliance has been specifically supplied or approved by The Lark Harbour Tilt.

Candles, incense and other open-flame devices are prohibited.

Guests must not tamper with smoke detectors, fire alarms, sprinklers, fire extinguishers or other life-safety equipment.

In the event of a fire or emergency, guests should leave the building using the nearest safe exit, proceed to the designated muster area where appropriate, and call 911.

12. PERSONAL PROPERTY & SECURITY

Guests are responsible for securing their room and personal belongings.

Guests should keep their room locked when unattended and take reasonable precautions with valuables.

The Lark Harbour Tilt cannot guarantee the security of personal items left unattended in guest rooms, vehicles or common areas.

Guests should immediately report lost access devices, suspected unauthorized access or other security concerns to us.

13. PARKING

Complimentary guest parking is available in designated guest parking areas.

Vehicles must be parked responsibly and may not block entrances, driveways, emergency access areas or neighbouring property.

Vehicles and their contents remain the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

14. ACCESSIBILITY & ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS

We want guests to feel welcome and supported during their stay.

Guests with accessibility requirements, disability-related accommodation needs, or questions about whether our property can meet a particular need are encouraged to contact us before arrival so that we can discuss available accommodations and make reasonable arrangements where possible.

15. RATE, AVAILABILITY & BOOKING ERRORS

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that rates, availability and accommodation information are accurate.

Occasionally, an obvious typographical, technical or system error may result in incorrect pricing, availability or reservation information.

Where an obvious error has occurred, The Lark Harbour Tilt may correct the error and will contact the affected guest as soon as reasonably possible.

If a material pricing or reservation error cannot be honoured as originally displayed, the guest will be given the option to accept the corrected reservation terms or cancel the affected reservation for a full refund.

16. CHANGES TO THESE POLICIES

These policies may be updated from time to time.

Unless otherwise required, the terms applicable to a reservation will be those in effect when the reservation was made.

The Last Updated date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
